Negative People
Being negative is associated with "downward" thoughts, emotions, feelings, etc. A person is "negative" if they are angry, or "negative" because they are not happy for you, or "negative" because they do not accept your lifestyle, or "negative" because they are always bitter. It must be understood that because we live in a dualistic world, both negative and positive will exist. The key thing is to learn to live in the balance of both the positive and negative.
Without ever going through your own negativity, you may not have the desire to be positive. When you are positive, without the experience of negativity, you will not know your potential or how far along you've come. Soul is beyond positive and negative, it just is - completely neutral. Soul always remains unaffected by both good/bad, positive/negative. That's why knowing our soul should be our goal.
Spiritual People are Negative, Too
I'll be honest with you, I have my days where I am negative. What contributes to my own negativity are sometimes the weather (no sun), what I ate the day before (treats or heavy food aren't always good), or sometimes unfortunate situations happen. Spiritual people will be negative, too. Maybe you are becoming more aware of other's negativity, but don't forget to look at yourself. Your moods should not be dependent on someone else's mood. Your efforts should be towards remaining neutral, unaffected, and calm.
By reading this post, it means you are possibly surrounded by negative thinkers that somehow bring you down. Yes, I can agree negative people can be absolutely draining, especially when you are trying to be positive or calm all the time. Negative situations may happen, and it takes you out of the positive bubble. BUT, one thing you have to remember is that you only have control over yourself and not the other. "How to Deal with Negative People"
- In your own meditation practice, visualize surrounding your entire body with a white-light outline. First it starts with imagination, and after awhile you will begin to see your own protective lining. Practice this everyday with intense visualization and this will help protect you from negative people, their thoughts, and threats to your own life.
- Recite the Namokar Mantra. It helps create healing energy and protection.
- Remind yourself that you cannot change people. Accept them for who they are.
- Be centered and calm, and sometimes those that are negative will become less negative.
- Understand you can be negative, too, and the other person is just having one of those days.
- Understand that some people have a HABIT of being negative.
- Surround yourself with good company.
- Increase your own personal awareness that you are neither affected by the positive and negative.
- Know your soul, and negative people cannot harm you.
How to Manage when you are VERY Angry and Negative
- Take 5 deep breaths.
- Drink a cold glass of water
- Walk away from the heated conversation, and come back when you are more calm
- Understand that your blood is boiling, and can lead to an unhealthy life. Being angry kills you first.
- Have two-way discussions in a peaceful environment
- Find a positive or calm person to help you with your negative situation
